An Infatuated Presence

Image
Reality has become an increasingly volatile place. A realist may describe it as insufferably toxic. Do not get me wrong. By no means am I trying to be harsh. I take no pleasure in detailing the more inconvenient experiences that you will irrefutably endure. That being said, all I wish is for people to be adequately informed.  Too often, we indulge ourselves in the more fulfilling adventures of life. In doing so, we leave ourselves in the ominous shadows, unprepared for the more devastating aspects of reality. The truth is, life is not viewed through transparent lens. Nor is it intricately fabricated with black and white mirrors.  Rather, is imperfectly constructed with a hundred different shades of grey. The silhouette of this mirror is left unchaperoned. Allowing an inconceivable presence of desire and impulse nefariously seep in through the unguarded fractures. In time your vision will begin to blur as if you are viewing life through a damning kaleidoscope. As human beings, ...

Lives Traded For Bullets

Image
We now live in a grim world where public shootings have become the new norm. In a forsaken reality in which morning coffee is served cold with the traumatic deaths of children, women, and men. Death is a toxin to the psyche. Ambiguous veracity, it is. The only way to survive? Desperately slathering oneself with an irony, oozing substance-blood. As disheartening as this is, people do not care. The officials we voted for...elected, refuse to aid humanity. They do not realize that students have to incredulously pile the body of a fallen student on top of themselves to remain unscathed. At that moment, students are besieged by horror. By the angst of not knowing whether or not they will be alive in the next few seconds. Or, perhaps, by the thought that they will die alone and forever cold. There are those who do not get the luxury of those ghastly thoughts. Why? No one saw it coming. Point-blank in the head. These children were devoid of life as a result of broken promises. Let ...

From the Embers of Failure

Image
People in the world adamantly believe defeat is what damns a person. From the beginning, we learned through trial and error. It is written in the stones of ancient caves. We observed. We tried. And if the outcome was desirable, we repeated. However, it is when we failed that we gained the most knowledge. If we simply succeeded at everything in life, without faults, we would be depriving ourselves of precious knowledge. Needed knowledge.  We would be absolutely oblivious to the presence of a second or third option. Nor would we know what to do in the case of a detrimental setback. Failure is not articulated as a taboo in society. It is perfectly alright to be wrong. It is not a curse and should not be perceived as such. Your response to the event will determine whether or not you are "damned."  Did you learn from your mistake? Or did you shove it in a box without acknowledging it had even occurred?  Failure is not something to be easily dismissed, there will be cons...

Embodied Hope

Image
A benevolent life is not measured by being immensely educated, wealthy, or by being a precisionist. It should be valued with decorous intentions. With the objective to share our dexterity that will touch the lives of others. Not just for the lives of commoners but for the lives that are vigorously searching for any inspiration they can meticulously hold.  Allowing the youth to dream, explore, and achieve for others will have a denouement that will end in a limitless horizon of hopes. Depending on how an individual reaps the effect of a loss, it is only permanent if you do not try again. The ability to dream has long since been a driving force of human nature. As we dream, we enter a state of the unconscious self, where anything presents itself as being a possibility. Here, our desires and thoughts become exceedingly lucid. More often than not, we find some aspect of our dreams to be compelling. But what characteristic compels us? Is it the thought of the richness and delicac...

Foretold Love

Image
At some point in a person's life, they will hear someone tell them, "You do not know what you hold so dearly until you have lost it." In that moment, we ungraciously heed their tell-tale warning. Choosing to live ignorantly only to fight with the ones who truly cared about us.  As time takes its toll, we weep deliriously for the relations we have lost. For the moments that "could have been." But, no. Instead, we arduously chose not to do so. We chose to maliciously hate rather than to love. In reality, we should have been searching for the key to happiness-love. People say there is no set definition for love.  Honestly, that may be true. How can you define something that has no limit? However, if one would distill love down to its essence, it might be defined along the lines of this: Love means caring about someone beyond all rationality. When you love someone, your feelings do not halt. Ever. They will never subside, nor should they dissipate. Even if people ...

Self Wars

Image
Internal Submission. Everyone has their own vindictive demons. It is an indisputable truth.  Unbeknownst at the time, there are those of us who  obviously nurture their insatiable hunger. As a result, they feed without mercy  on our falters. In time, you begin to lose slivers of your identity. Portions  of your personality-disintegrated. Moral standards and obligations- obliterated.  It continues until you no longer  recognize the individual staring back at you in the mirror. You see that it  mimics your every move, but you tell yourself that it could not possibly be  you. The reflection eyes you with startling impudence. As you stand  incredulously, the stranger releases an aura of impertinent hostility. But you  can ward these demons off. With enough aspiration, you can slay them thoroughly. We all have our assumptions about the "black  sheep" of society. We illustrate them as deceptive and devious ...
